git clone https://github.com/Varixxl/omarchy-music.git ~/Projects/omarchy-music

Then start it with omarchy-music, or bind a key to it. Running it again shows or hides the window.

What it does

Before you start

Do I need a Tidal subscription?

For lossless, yes: FLAC comes from Tidal and needs a Tidal plan. Songs Tidal has no FLAC of, or everything without Tidal, stream in lower quality from Tidal's AAC or YouTube Music. YouTube Music, Apple Music and Spotify are used to browse your library and playlists.

How do I sign in to YouTube Music or Apple Music on Windows?

Sign in at music.youtube.com and music.apple.com in Firefox, then reopen the accounts menu (☰) in the app. The app reads those sign-ins from Firefox. Chrome and Edge lock their cookies so that other apps can't read them.

Where does it keep my data?

Downloads go to Music\Omarchy Music in your user folder. On Windows, settings and logins are in %LOCALAPPDATA%\omarchy-music. On Linux they are in ~/.local/state. Nothing leaves your computer except requests to the music services you connect.

Is it free?

Yes. It is open source under the MIT license. The source code is on GitHub.
